The Deep-Sea Series by Mikael B. represents an abstract collection of the many euphoric visuals one can encounter under the immense deep sea. The regal and uplifting nature of this collection provides a well-needed escape that resonates with so many of us.
‘I’m just obsessed with this idea of taking a leap into a new world without knowing exactly what I’m searching for – kind of like an unexpected journey. Maybe it’s an inward journey. I make a lot of connections with my countless deep dive experiences around the world. The sea can look almost completely black, but the instance you dive in, a whole new world that opens up. I think this is what I’m trying to convey, in a visual way, with my Deep Sea paintings.’ (Mikael B.)
