‘What Will You Do With Your Difference?’
Acrylic, spray paint, oil paint and collage on canvas
This piece is part of a body of work titled ‘From My Shore to Yours’, exploring voice, expression and our need for connection. We come alive in moments of recognition; A memory, a glimpse of something, a scent, a song, we connect to something in our core, something stirs and awakens. These moments construct who we are and how we live.
Making art and viewing art can extend those moments and hold us in that space, it becomes a chord between us, a ceaseless conversation across time, through creativity, teaching us about ourselves and healing our lives as we go. Through this work I focused on the idea that we all enter the same stream on the way to expression and while working alone we are always interlinked, allowing each other to step further into the unknown. Making art; a call from my shore to yours.
