LOUNYS

(French, 1989)

Lounys, originally from Paris with Algerian and Berber heritage, is now based in Thailand, having previously lived in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and across Europe.

His art is bold and provocative, exploring the nature of survival in its contemporary form. Often referencing satirical cartoons and using caricatures to critique political and social figures.

Influenced by contemporary pop and conceptual art movements, Lounys primarily employs a drawing style that echoes the surrealist experiments of the 1920s. His creative process is fueled by dreams, society, raw emotions and unfiltered thoughts. He draws inspiration from traditional Berber Kabyle tattoo art, blending it with the vibrant colours of pop art.

Lounys, like his work, is an energetic and fully dedicated artist.
