DOA (Dead on Arrival) was originally created for “In Bloom” a flower inspired group show at the Quinn Hotel in New York City. The original was painted on a canvas, but shortly after, launched into a limited edition print of 150. The name and idea originated from the observation of gifting someone flowers that are technically dead. We removed them from their natural habitat and placed them on life support as decorative objects. The Vandal is seen reviving the flowers with his own source of life, paint. Nick also explores perspective which is something he commonly plays around with in several of his works.
